Harry Brown (stills)

This is a still from the torture scene in Harry Brown. Our torture scene is similar in the way that Mark is trapped in the chair, however, there isn't a torturer in our sequence - our sequence just shows Mark screaming for help. We didn't have the right facilities/materials to add suitable mise en scene, so most of our shots were close-ups - this added more suspense and the feeling of entrapment. Harry Brown's Marky (to the left) has a bin-bag over his head. We never planned for Mark to wear anything over his head, eg: a bag. But looking back at this torture sequence maybe it would have added more suspense to the sequence, the feeling of the unknown. To be fair though it could have looked too much alike the Harry Brown sequence, we decided to be more original. In this still there is blood on Marky's face (to the left). We considered using tomato sauce in our sequence to act as blood on Mark's face. We had tomato sauce to use but we decided against it because it could have looked too over the top, also graphic. Our sequence is similar to the Harry Brown one in the way that Mark has been kidnapped, but the Harry Brown sequence is more like an interrogation, whereas our sequence has more of a feeling of the unknown and gives off an unpredictable factor.
